Tom is a graduate of Kenyon College (Cum Laude) and the Ohio State University College of law. He is admitted to practice law in Ohio, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Tom has over 30 years of experience in litigation involving commercial and business litigation, product liability, toxic tort, environmental, construction, employment, insurance and personal injury issues.

Tom is a member of the American, Ohio State, and Dayton Bar Associations and he is also an arbitrator in civil construction and insurance disputes with the American Arbitration Association, and a certified federal mediator. Tom's other professional memberships include the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the American Association for Justice, and the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers Association.

Tom's commitment to community service is seen in his many leadership and service activities with organizations such as the Ohio Horseman’s Council, the Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project, Rhythm in Shoes, Inc. board of directors, the Kettering Rotary Foundation, the Dayton Children's Hospital, the Dayton Country Club, Inc., and teaching trial practice at the University of Dayton School of Law.
