Born and raised in Middletown, Travis graduated from Madison High School. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Ohio University in 1993, graduating cum laude.
In 1999, Travis received his Juris Doctor from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. While at Lewis & Clark, Travis was the president and a board member of the Public Interest Law Project. He was also a member of the Mock Trial team, competing in local and national competitions. He was named the team’s Outstanding Advocate in 1998. Travis was the recipient of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Advocacy Award and the Justice Robert E. Jones Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
After law school, Travis served as a Deputy District Attorney in Portland, Oregon. For seven years, he prosecuted all levels of criminal matters including major felony assaults, child and adult sexual assaults and complex narcotics and fraud cases. He was the supervising deputy for several specialized investigative units. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Travis personally tried more than 100 jury trials.
Travis is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Oregon. He is a trial attorney concentrating his practice in representing individuals, businesses and municipalities in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death, Intentional Torts, Premises Liability and Municipal Liability.
He is a member of the Ohio State, Dayton and Oregon Bar Associations, as well as a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys. |
