Green & Green Participation in Professional Conferences

Green & Green members participated in several valuable professional conferences in the first quarter of 2017, sharing and gaining knowledge with clients and colleagues.  Kicking off the year, in January, Jane Lynch and Erin Moore attended the Defense Research Institute’s Governmental Liability Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.  This conference is directed to counsel, insurers and risk managers defending governmental entities.  One of the highlights, as always, was Professor Erwin Chemerinsky’s overview of recent Supreme Court decisions affecting governmental entities and forecasts regarding likely upcoming issues for the Court.

In February, Tom Green attended the Spring Meeting of the American College of Trial Lawyers held in Boca Raton, Florida.  Membership in the ACTL is a great honor as membership is by invitation only, extended to those who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, integrity and professionalism.

In March, Jane Lynch presented on the topic of “Political Subdivision Liability for Civil Rights Claims Arising from Stops, Detentions, and Arrests of Open Carriers,” with other attorney colleagues at the spring meeting of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel in Charleston, South Carolina.  Membership in the prestigious FDCC is limited, selective and by nomination only.  Members are dedicated to promoting knowledge, fellowship and professionalism of its members and the bar, generally.

Also in March, Erin Moore attended the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance Annual Meeting, back in Nashville, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Conference Center.  The CLM is comprised of insurance and legal professionals representing a wide variety of corporations, insurance companies, third party administrators, service providers and law firms and focuses on continuing education and networking opportunities for its members.  Attorney members may join only by nomination.

Green & Green members believes regular participation in high quality professional associations like these supports the legal community by fostering collegiality and sharing information, making us better lawyers for our clients.
