Appellate Law
Appeals occur when one or more parties involved in litigation are dissatisfied with the outcome of the trial court’s decision. Appellate law involves the review of the trial court’s record and the preparation of briefs and oral arguments in support of either reversing or affirming the trial court’s decision depending on whether the outcome was favorable. Appellate issues arise in both Ohio state court and the federal court system. Often the appeals process stops after a decision by the appellate court. However, decisions from the appellate district courts can be appealed to the Ohio Supreme Court or even the United States Supreme Court on a limited basis. Green & Green Lawyers has significant experience in framing the issues on appeal and presenting the record in a way that maximizes the opportunity for a successful appellate outcome. |
