Employment Law
Employment laws regulate the relationship between an employer and employee and the contracts of employment. Employment law issues include collective bargaining; protection against sexual harassment and discrimination in the place of work on the basis of age, sex, race, religion, color, disability, or national origin; wages; hours of work; occupational safety; workers’ compensation; the terms and conditions of employment; holiday entitlements; health insurance benefits; and protection of an employee’s rights. Both federal and state laws aim at protecting the rights of employees.
