Intentional Torts
An intentional tort is a deliberate or conscious act or omission on the part of the tortfeasor. Intentional torts include assault, battery, trespass to land and chattels, false imprisonment, libel, slander, conversion, and invasion of privacy. It is a branch of civil law and the main criteria for determining liability is the intention of the wrongdoer and the consequences of his or her act, omission, or conduct.
